At Wollaston, research is all about exploring new ideas. Sometimes that means creating new knowledge. Other times, it means taking what’s already known and looking at it from a fresh perspective.
Our research doesn’t just live in academic journals. It makes a wider impact. It helps churches reflect on their mission or how readers can better understand the Bible. It also informs conversations across the church and society about belief, identity, values, community, and the future of the church itself.
Our academic staff are internationally recognised experts in their fields. They write books, publish scholarly articles and book chapters, and take on key leadership roles in the academic world—serving on editorial boards, in professional societies, and as peer reviewers of research. They speak at conferences and public events, engage with the media, and support churches and organisations with thoughtful, research-informed perspectives on complex issues.
Alongside its academic staff, Wollaston is also home to several Honorary Research Associates who bring additional depth to its research culture. The College hosts a monthly Research Seminar where its researchers join those from across the University of Divinity to share ideas, present their work, and learn from the research expertise of others.
Wollaston offers Higher Degrees by Research (HDR), including PhDs, through the University of Divinity—one of Australia’s leading institutions for theological research. When you study with us, you’ll be part of a vibrant academic community and have access to world-class resources, including:
